my theseis (for a Master's Degree in Political Science) is about Nationalisms and the fragmentation of Central and Eastern Europe --> it's 19th century stuff, but of course i have to touch on most of the 20th, in particular after the Treaty of Versailles(1919) the meeting of Stalin,Truman and Stalin in 1945('iron curtain' begins...) and all of the post 1989 period. it's been my subject since before we met, btw...*g*

scholarship i've applied for (there were 15 to give out) had 768 applicants. now there's 134 left. it's still too much.. huggy? *huggy-cuddle* didn't tell you before 'coz i'm dumb and also didn't think you'd be interested.
and i'm *not* a VIP (Very Intelligent Person) lol! i just try to fool them all... *ggg* *chuckle* You are a VIP!! so tell me, what would you like to "pursue" Arts, it is something Art-related? i need you to explain me these things about Austria. everything's new me for me. i'm still thinking they invented such a beautiful country to hide my love in. Well...in 7 days (YAY!!!) the walls are coming down - or at least, please please, please let there be no foggy conditions above Linz. i *must* land!

you know the critical/sarcastic part of our Arts world is left to "Revista à Portuguesa", then there's the Café-concertos (where Ute's reportoir fits), soirées(same but posher), on to independent non-subsidised theatre, independent subsisidised theatre (both are kind of alike and pur on plays and the occasional musical from classic repertoire), then there's the flagships -5 Regional Theatres(Middle Ages to Brecht! ^_^) and 3 National ones 1 for Opera(Lisbon) 1 for Ballett or really Big Portuguese Theatrical classicals (also in Lisbon) and 1 like this in Porto only with less money and less plays per year. still, there's more people going to the movies in a month than to all these places in a year... we're a developed country now, but the strain of having turned into one so fast still shows... *g* Babble Alert

My Thesis (which i'll frequent sob about when i have a friendly shoulder) is going nowhere, my temporary job ends this month (which is why i can go, so that's fine) and come January i'll re-apply for a scholarship, now that i'm not employed. my poor baby only starts holidays on the 24th. most students here either started this Friday(15th)already or the next (22nd).

"Different For Girls" is about 2 boys who met in school and were best friends-going-on-to-something else. They lost contact for 15 years. Karl is now Kim, (she had a sex-change operation) and lives a quiet middle class life, 'til she bumps into Curtis, who delivers things (cute, for a biker) he has many troubles accepting her (and he's poor) but love will flourish in the weirdest places ^-^ They're both nearly 30. Ain't the english so cute?. i love the actor who plays Curtis, Rupert Graves. of course i love you a few zillion universes more *kissyhug*

i'm not to keen on Christmas. first i lost the habit of big family reunions by the age of 12 or so. And after my mom died dad and I make a point of being out of the country, but together. this year we'll probably stay home. i fear our blankie will be getting lots of tears, sawry... i'm so thrilled there's only 11 days to go... love you *kiss*

my Saturday was me fighting the cold (i won) and me listening to Nine Inch Nails (which ain't exactly me) and to Marianne Faithfull (which isn't exactly you, probably). And I'm definitely taking that movie "Different For Girls" with me, it's noisy, raunchy, sweet, obscene and romantic...

11 days to go YAYYAY - my tummy's all funny, i blush quite often, i get a kick out of packing stuff and unpacking them and rearrangeing and packing them again... i think my head is too light. please tell me again - is it okay if i just babble a lot when we first see each other? i might also get emotional --> hugging you, holding you, chastely kissing you, not able to say anything sensible...
